Postcrossing Official: NI-122

The last post for today shows my first postcard from Nicaragua! The sender wrote that he lived in middle america for the past 20 years, but is going to move back to Austria at the end of this year. Looks like I'm not the only postcrosser who's planning to mvoe even though I'm staying in the same country while he changes a country with such beautiful beaches for one located in the mountains =D

Mail from my brother!

Usually when I'm visiting some of the cities that aren't too far away from here I never care about getting postcards for myself and always send all of them to other people, so it was a nice surprise when I've got this postcard from my brother. Itz shows the "Zeche & Zollverein" an UNESCO WHS in Essen. My brother moved there a few years ago and so I also visit (and have been visiting him) every now and then, but this is actually the first Essen postcard in my postcard collection :)

Guess since I'm moving soon I should try to get a few postcards from the larger cities around here for my own collection :)

Surprise cards from Austria!

Ever since my dad told some of his co-workers that I collect postcards I sometimes receive great postcards when one of them went on vacation. This time I received these two cards from Austria!
Well, I don't know if they are are just nice people that they care to send mail to someone they don't know, or if they hope to gain something by doing so (as in favours from my dad) ... well whatever their reason is I always enjoy getting those surprise postcards :D

This probably would have been one of the best officials I've received so far (along with many other beautiful cards) if it wasn't a double. Okay the sender couldn't know that I already received this card through a private swap long time ago so I was just happy that she choose such a nice postcard for me that also matched my wishlist :)

I love how simple this postcard is. One of my favourite Moomin cards!

Most of my Civil War related postcard had been modern cards, so it was a nice surprise when I found this card in my mail box. On top of that this card hadn't been sent because I requested such cards, but simply because I wrote "World History" as one of my personal interests.
So it indeed was a nice surprise ;)

I also exchanged some messages with the sender and she really seems to be a nice and interesting person that surprised me by sending even more cards after that will get posted later :)
